The Julian Jaynes Society Conference on Consciousness and Bicameral Studies

June 5-8, 2013
Charleston, West Virginia

We are pleased to announce the largest conference entirely dedicated to Julian Jaynes's theory on consciousness and the bicameral mind ever held. The multidisciplinary program will feature 30 speakers from six countries over three full days and will be entirely dedicated to exploring various aspects of Jaynes's theory. If you are interested in deepening your understanding of Jaynes's theory and meeting fellow Jaynes enthusiasts from around the world, we encourage you to join us for this unique, one-time event.

Another day of informative presentations and late night discussions.

It's nice to have a few hours around dinner time to nap and assimilate before meeting up for discussions.

The whole conference has been well-planned and executed.


Just realized the board is on west coast time. I wish it was only 9:48...we could stay up for a few more hours.

Thanks again to everyone who came to The Julian Jaynes Society Conference on Consciousness and Bicameral Studies. It truly exceeded our expectations! It was great to hear the many thought provoking presentations as well as exchange ideas with so many interesting Jaynes enthusiasts from all over the U.S. and eight foreign countries. We'll be getting photos from the conference posted soon, as well as pdfs of some of the presentations. Audio and video will be made available at some point as well.

The Julian Jaynes Society Conference on Consciousness and Bicameral Studies audio CD is now available.

It contains 24 lectures related to Jaynes's theory plus a Q & A session with Rabbi James Cohn, Marcel Kuijsten, and Brian J. McVeigh, totaling nearly 12 hours of material. Each lecture has been carefully edited to improve the overall quality. The CD also includes the conference program booklet and photos from the conference.
