Abstract: Complex visual hallucinations occur in some visually handicapped aged people in the absence of neurological or psychiatric disorder, characterising the Charles Bonnet Syndrome. On the other hand, formed auditory hallucinations, mostly musical, have been described in patients with acquired peripheral deafness and no neurological or psychiatric pathology. As these two syndromes, which appear to share a common pathogenesis (sensory deprivation), are not known to occur in the same patient, we thought the present case worth reporting.
